12 killed, 45 injured in train collision near Gorakhpur in UP

At least twelve persons were killed and 45 others injured when two speeding passenger trains collided near Gorakhpur late last night, a railway official said today.At least twelve persons have died and among the 45 injured, 12 are grievously injured, railway spokesperson Anil Saxena said.Krishak Express, travelling from Varanasi to Gorakhpur, hit Barauni Express, going from Lucknow to Barauni, from behind at a place, about 7 km from here at around 11 pm, Chief Public Relations Officer Alok Singh said.Singh said three coaches of Barauni Express were thrown off the track following the collision.

Commuters inconvenienced due to suspension of bus, cab services

Commuters were put to inconvenience on Saturday as KSRTC suspended bus services between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on Saturday, fearing violence on the judgment day of the Jayalalitha disproportionate assets case .Tourist cabs, lorries and private buses bound for Tamil Nadu also did not operate. As many as 700 migrants feared drowned in Mediterranean

Girl found hanging from tree, mob lynches accused
